General Questions

These are some of our frequently asked questions.

Grass like all living organisms need water and light to thrive. Thatch build up in our climate can be dense and without removal chokes out new grass growth by limiting access to air, water and sunshine.

Power raking removes thatch to let the new stuff grow in and existing grass get the nutrients it needs. Not to mention the grass looks much nicer with the dead stuff gone! Only established grass needs power raking. Newer sod can get damaged with power raking.

Core aeration provides the roots greater access to air, water, and fertilizer. This access to air, water, and nutrients improves the health of the turf, resulting in deeper and more extensive turfgrass roots. It also alleviates the soil compaction which results in a denser root system as well. Newly laid sod doesn't need aeration. We only recommend this service for established grass.
We recommend three to four treatments of fertilizer annually. We use a granular fertilizer that is specialized for the season. This fertilizer does not contain weed control but we work closely with another company that does spray fertilizer and weed control. If you would like to get on his program, please let me know and I will share his contact information. He does an excellent job and has been working in Calgary for over thirty years.
Weather permitting, we aim to be there the same day every week. Oftentimes when it rains early in the week our schedule gets pushed back, so even if it isn't raining on the day we are scheduled at your place, we may be behind still. We work longer on the days after the grass has dried out to catch up but please leave a day or two leeway after a rainy week.

we only bill for work that has been completed. If it is sod, mulch etc. after completion, or end of month for weekly lawn maintenance services. Email money transfer, cash or cheque is preferred but we also accept credit cards.
